How to Add a Little Magic to Your Halloween Wedding

So many brides have the misconception that a Halloween-themed wedding means that they need to walk down the aisle in a black dress with a bouquet of dried, red roses clenched tightly in their hands. While this is the picture of perfection to some, others prefer something a bit left of tradition without straying too far outside the box.

Halloween Wedding CeremonyFind yourself relating more to the latter group? No problem. There are plenty of ways to pay homage to your favorite holiday without making your guests feel like they’ve stepped into a horror movie! Here are just a few of my favorite ideas:

A seasonal take on the ceremony

What’s a Halloween wedding without a few pumpkins? Placing small, ornamental pumpkins along the aisle is a super easy way to decorate with the spirit of the holiday. You can even give your ceremony a vintage All Hallows’ Eve feel by placing cast iron lanterns in between each pumpkin and filling them with candles. Personally, I love the mood that candlelight dances between spooky and romantic.

Get creative with your escort cards

Sure, you can just write your guests names and seat assignments on little pieces of paper and place them uniformly on a table, but where’s the fun in that? I love this idea from Offbeat Bride, where one couple spray painted novelty vampire teeth silver and used them as placeholders for their escort cards. The same can be done with a can of gold spray paint and miniature pumpkins, like these from A Pretty Vintage Affair.

Spooktacular cocktails

Your guests are going to love indulging in a few tasty, Halloween-inspired cocktails! While sites like Pinterest will have no shortage of ideas for you to browse, DIY Network’s Vampire Kiss would make the perfect signature cocktail. You can even ask your bartender to bring along a few pellets of dry ice to add an even more eye-catching, foggy effect!

Add a candy bar

This one doesn’t really need much of an explanation. Halloween is all about the sweet stuff, and a candy bar can act as an awesome and easy trick-or-treat wedding favor for your loved ones to enjoy!
